McBride has been an active photographer for over thirty years. His specialty has always been nature and travel related work.

Early in his photographic career he had the opportunity to study under the late Ernst Haas, the famed Magnum and Time/Life photographer. From Haas he learned the importance of design and color balance in an image.

Most of McBride's work has been done on 35mm color film; but he's also done some black and white and panoramic work on 120 film. In recent years he has added a digital camera to his bag, although he continues to shoot color film as well. That's because he believes that some subjects can still be captured more effectively and more dramatically on film.

McBride holds a Degree in Communication Arts from the University of Notre Dame and is former U.S. Naval Officer.
